EL NIÑO ALERT: Standing With Nairobi's Most Vulnerable Communities
As Kenya braces for an above-normal October–December 2026 El Niño season, families in Mathare, Kiambiu, South B and Korogocho already know what heavy rain means: flooded homes, contaminated water, damaged livelihoods, and lives lost. At KipajiKazi, "For Our People and Our Planet" is not a slogan — it is why we exist. Just as our social enterprise model has turned local challenges into sustainable opportunity for youth, women and persons with disabilities, we are now calling on like-minded organizations, corporate CSR partners, humanitarian agencies and development funders to join hands with us, national and county governments, and first-line responders to get ahead of this crisis — not after it strikes. Modest, well-targeted investment in community-based early warning, evacuation readiness, WASH and livelihood protection today can prevent the loss of life and displacement we have watched repeat itself in 2024 and again this year. Partner with us. Fund preparedness, not just recovery. #ElNinoAlert #KipajiKazi #ForOurPeopleAndOurPlanet.
